FAQ
What is a virtual number for SMS verification?
A temporary phone number you rent online to receive a one-time code (OTP) from an app or website — WhatsApp, Telegram, Google, Facebook and others — without using your own SIM card. On TapOTP you pick the app and the country, pay from your balance and the SMS appears in your dashboard within seconds.
What is a Non-VoIP number?
A Non-VoIP number belongs to a real mobile carrier SIM, not to an internet (VoIP) phone service. Many apps and banks block VoIP numbers, so a Non-VoIP number is accepted where cheap virtual numbers fail.
What is the difference between VoIP and Non-VoIP numbers?
VoIP numbers are created by internet phone companies and are cheaper, but some services detect and refuse them. Non-VoIP numbers come from real mobile operators, cost a little more and pass stricter checks.
How much does a number cost?
Prices start from $0.01 per number and depend on the app and the country. See the live price list on the Prices page.
What happens if no SMS arrives?
Cancel any time before a code arrives, or the number expires automatically after about 14–20 minutes — the full price is refunded to your balance.
Can I keep the same number for longer?
Yes. Rent a number for days, or take an area-code number valid for 5–80+ days that receives unlimited SMS. You can even send it to another user.
Is there an API for developers?
Yes. TapOTP has an SMS-Activate compatible API and a JSON API, so bots and software can buy numbers and read codes automatically.
How do I add balance?
Open Add Funds in your dashboard and pay with crypto (USDT TRC-20 / BEP-20) or the other methods shown. Deposits are credited automatically.
